City Information

Taipei city is situated in a basin in northern Taiwan that was inhabited by aboriginal peoples until settlers from China moved into the area about 300 years ago. The first permanent settlements were in the present-day districts of Wanhua and Datong, in western Taipei. These areas still retain many of their old customs, as visitors can readily see in the architecture, sculptures, and ceremonies of the old streets and temples.

Weather/Climate

October is one of the best months for visitors in TaipeiCity. The weather is relatively cool comparing hot summer season in July and August. The average temperature hovers around 21℃ ~ 24 ℃during daytime and may drop to under 20℃ in the night time.

For the island is surrounded by oceans; and the ocean breezes, which are the reason for Taiwan's humid weather, the humidity in Taipei City is relatively high around 70% ~ 75% during October.
